WE LOST ONE OF OUR NYC FINEST (A RETIRED NYCTA WORKER WHO PAST AWAY IN MARCH 2019
HIS IMMEDIATE FAMILY IN NEED OF A MIRACLE BY NOVEMBER 15, 2019.
George Hamilton aka "Ham" a NY native, worked for NYCTA (as a trackman) for 40 years, past away in March 2019. His co-workers would call him "Ham". My dad worked as a tower controller at Jay St and then started working as a trackman at East Tremont Avenue, Bronx, Burnside Avenue, Bronx. My dad would pick up his work schedule everyday at the MTA Jay Street, Boro Hall. He was admired by many. He leaves behind 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. His children is asking for help in donations to help save our home. Our home has great sentimental values and My dad spent time in our home when he was not working. My dad worked very hard for many years with NYCHA and NYCTA and took care of his family in NY and PA.
Now there is a serious Tax Sale where the county is trying to take the house away from his family. In 2000, upon my dad returning to NY from PA he fell out on the job with his sugar level of 400. I thank God for the NYCTA workers who rushed him to the emergency room that day. I thank God, for he did survive, Then his eldest daughter survived a horrific bus crash in 2001 that flipped upside down and slid down in I-80. He was worried for his eldest daughter he almost lost her.
My dad continued to work with NYCTA. was not only was he a father to us, but he helped even the fatherless. He helped many in time of need.
I and my family are still grieving over our loss. He is really, really missed. His daughter in 2017, I was rear-ended by another car on Belt Parkway, in stopped traffic. Then in 2019 , was rear-end again, on the Belt Parkway after visiting our dad in the hospital with my daughter and 3 grandchildren in the car.
However, in February 2019 my dad, "Ham" was rushed to ER unresponsive, as the doctors worked on him and he thru, as prayers and praises were lifted up. In his last days in the hospital my dad said: "he was sitting on the deck at the house and all of his children and grandchildren were inside the house talking and laughing."
We would appreciate any amount you can donate, please, so we can go before the Judge and present the funds to the tax office. I work on a part-time basis but It is not enough to cover the back taxes. I must say it has been a struggle, but I am not giving up. We will have no place to go..
