Campaign Story
2 year old Nathan Snowie is very ill with an incurable form of Epilepsy known as ‘Dravet Syndrome’.
Poor Nathan was admitted to intensive care 25 times in the last year alone as his seizures are so bad. He cannot be left in a ‘normal’ bed during the night as he could hurt himself so he needs a special high-sided, enclosed bed to keep him safe… but they are very expensive costing a hefty£6,375, which is too much for the family to afford themselves!.
The charity ‘Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children’ has provided Nathan with an emergency bed for 6 months only, whilst a permanent bed is sourced. They cannot buy the bed for him as they have already spent more than £36,766 on specialist equipment for 20 children in Aberdeenshire!
