I'm Nasra and I would first like to appreciate you for taking your time to read this.
7 years ago if you asked me what's more important in life, my answer would be to survive each day of my teen years so that I don't end up in an early planned marriage. Planned early marriages are a norm in my culture. Having to witness young girls of age 11 married off has been both a nightmare and an eye opening experience to me.
I grew up in a financially insecure family of 8 members raised by a jobless single parent. Being exposed to such adversities of hunger, poverty and sexual assaults, has been an experience that I'm both grateful and thankful for. It has made me more aware of what's beyond living in the shadows of fear of getting married of at an early age. It has risen my sense of self worth and to fight for my dreams and goals.
This coming spring I have been awarded the opportunity to further my education to attend the university of Nicosia in Cyprus to study the Business Administration. I would forever cherish your help and aid in making this dream come true. With your help, I will be able to lift those around me. I will able to help young girls like me discover what is beyond our cultural norms and tradition.
