About the video:

The song is called Kalié and it is our first entirely original composition: we wrote both the music and the lyrics together on a spring afternoon. At first we were also surprised how the sound of the sirens and the vision of the raging sea emerged from us, but we managed to shape these images and feelings into a very strong, deep and - in our opinion - beautiful song, which we connected to the destructive and revitalizing power of the Indian goddess Kali. The music video will be a comprehensive artwork, with director Balázs Lippai and his team on board.

About the band:

Napfonat (transl.: Sun-braid), female a cappella band (HU) was formed in early spring 2018, by young women connected by the love of singing and sharing joy of the soul. Napfonat adapts the folk songs of different cultures and ethnicities and transforms them into unique polyphonic arrangements enriched with percussive instruments. The young and dynamic female a cappella band (members of which come from different cultural backgrounds) present their original compositions and arrangements of traditional Hungarian, Slovak, Spanish, Polish, Russian and Gypsy folk songs to wide festival audiences, strengthening the awareness of togetherness and cross-cultural dialogue as well as the healing power of the human voice.

Since their debut in spring 2018 they played sold-out concerts in Budapest (in venues such as Fono, Szimpla Kert and Artus Studio), and have been invited to festivals across Hungary (e.g. Valley of Arts, HUG Festival, Babel Sound Festival) and abroad too (e.g. Festival Kultury Nebanalnej - Poland).
