Nani’s Tongue Cancer Surgery

My grandmom, 71, got diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma aka tongue cancer this summer (2015). She has received two chemo therapy sessions so far and should now undergo surgery to remove the tumor from her tongue. The next procedure after her recovery would be radiation therapy to ensure it does not relapse.

She is my only family besides my aunt. After my parents demise at age 10, she brought me up and I owe my education and life to her. I am a student, and although I want to help with the bills, my sources are limited. She does not hold a health insurance , so we need to arrange the funds for her surgery.

She has had a wonderful life and she has helped people to become financially independent. She was a teacher, a social worker and a great inspiration and support for the family after the demise of my two uncles ( her sons).
