Campaign Story
Myka is a 20years old cat who was born in my home as a single kitten… it is a very rare yet normal occurance for a cat to bare a single litter… It wasn’t a surprise at all as his mother was 27 years old at the time of his birth. To my family, he is a diamond, or rather a gem… but to me, he is a friend who has always been there for the past 20years…
Over the years, Myka was rarely sick… he was a heavy eater growing up… by the time he was a full adult, his body was massive… a heavy weight cat masculine cat… yet he was gentle and charming…
In 2018, his daughter was diagnosed with the same condition… with the help of kind contribution, she underwent chemo… it was successful, but it wasn’t enough to sustain a cure… her demise in 2019 brought my world crashing down…
in 2021, when I began noticing Myka was bleeding from his nose, I immediately recognised the symptoms… Vet was quick to dismiss it as cancer… and he was given steroids… he became better immediately after that… the bleeding stops… so thinking I was wrong…
it wasn’t until recently that I noticed a change in his nasal area… some sort of deformity… he was meowing non stop and wheezing… it was impediment that he was in pain…
Bringing to Dr Rockey from Genesis, he confirmed that myka has lymphoma… the most common cancer in cats…
I am truly greatful for your kind contribution… no amount is too small, for it will be a huge difference in helping myka with his medical bills… on behalf of Myka and from the bottom of my heart, thank you..

My Farewell to Myka

It is with heavy heart that I humbly announce, Myka has left us peacefully through euthanasia. He started to stop eating completely on 05 Jan 2023, sleeping most the time, only waking up to drink and crying in pain before going back to sleep. This fundraiser will be closed henceforth.

This morning was an emergency… Myka started bleeding profusely… rushed him to The visiting Vet at 9 Taman Serasi… He was crying in pain… Dr Hazel Tan, assessed Myka and found out that the tumour had grown outside the nasal cavity… some of it can be seen protruding out from

Vet visit 03 Oct 2022
Update posted by Sulaiman Said at 05:45 amWent for a review… vet said his condition is stable despite the bleeding… his tumour was found to have grown significantly larger obstructing his airways… it was evident by his wheezing and mouth breathing… his has lost weight but not a drastic loss only at 0.5kg…

Update posted by Sulaiman Said at 10:35 amDue to Myka’ old age, it is not feasible to give him the treatment of chemo… instead it was suggested a series of steroid pills to help minimise pain so that he is able to live his remaining of his life the fullest… he needs to be assessed every 2-3weeks
