Hi! I've decided to take a gap year between high school and college to volunteer internationally for a year.

In 2019 I was diagnosed with functional neurological disorder and it disrupted the second half of my junior year into my senior year. My grades took an obvious hit and I was at a very low point in my life. But then I made the decision to take a step outside myself and volunteer in India in June. That month I had none of my usual symptoms (seizures, blindness, tremors, paralysis), and I'd never been happier. I realized my passion for helping others and I want to chase the pure joy I get from that for as long as I live.

I made the decision to take a gap year because I thought I needed a break before I started on my next big venture, college. I think this year will allow me to recuperate and go to college with a fresh, reinvigorated outlook on life.

I'm going to volunteer again with the same organization I went with before which is IVHQ. During my gap year, I want to volunteer in several different countries to get a more rounded global perspective. The goal is to hit every continent :D. The country list isn't set yet but the contender so far are Columbia, Uganda, Morocco, Laos, Spain, and Argentina.

I'd be so incredibly grateful for any donations! All the money would go toward plane tickets and the weekly fees IVHQ charges to pay for our accommodations and food and other necessities. Thank you so much and have a great day! :)
