My volunteering trip to Sri Lanka

Hello, my name is Oceanne and I am a student from Bristol, England and I am thrilled to announce that I have been accepted on to a volunteer program taking place August 2017. This is with the organisation PMGY (www.planmygapyear.com) and
I will be travelling to Ambalangoda, Sri Lanka where I'm hoping to make a difference in the lives of the people who are living there.

Whilst I am there, I will be working in conjunction with other volunteers to help the local community to develop their infrastructure by renovating any existing buildings as well as helping to build important buildings- For example schools and orphanages. In addition to this, I will also be teaching English to the children in schools to open up more possibilities for their futures as well as providing education on issues such as health/hygiene which is life changing information. I will also have the chance to help out at the local orphanages caring for these children, and providing them the means to become confident and happy.

This is an amazing once in a lifetime opportunity that I know will stay with me forever. To participate in this experience, I have to raise around £1200 which I know is a large amount. This will cover the costs of flights, food and accommodation, the purchasing of all needed supplies for the project and any materials needed on the trip.
