My volunteer trip

I am a single mom and have always thought it would be impossible to this.... but I want to show my children that there is more to Christmas/ holidays than what society has taught us. Society has told us to put Christmas trees up and decorate the house with lights to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Jesus did not tell us to do this. Jesus did not tell us to celebrate his birthday but rather his death. I’m tired of Christmas being selfish and about gifts, Santa clause and things that are irrelevant to the teach from Jesus. I want to give my kid the opportunity to give back to others and to experience what that feels like with out expecting anything in return.
