I am volunteering in Sri-Lanka where I will be aiding in the conservation of Wild Elephants in Wasgamuwa National Park. I will be spending 4 weeks working with farmers to resolve human-elephant conflict. This involves mapping biodiversity using surveying techniques, assisting with the implementation of human-elephant conflict resolution projects, and developing sustainable rural livelihood initiatives.
I will then travel directly from Sri Lanka in India where I will partake in childcare for 3 weeks. I will be working at centres which are often overrun and underfunded, I will be taking English lessons, assisting with homework and teaching essential life skills, such as personal hygiene, while also arranging games and activities for the children.
Your money will be put towards the materials and training required whilst I am working.
