If you're going to fail, at least fail trying.
At the beginning of this schooling term, I started attending a new school. This new school of mine is everything I'm not used to. It's a public, co-ed school. But we all have to cope with change as nothing will remain the same in our lives, change is continuously happening and we shouldn't fight it, rather go along with it.
I'm an A student who is constantly striving for better results. I'm always either studying or trying to tutor others who need the extra help. Life at home was never easy, but I never let that stunt my growth. Growing up, I didn't have a father nor did I receive any financial assistance from him for the funding of my education or anything for that matter.Having a single, unemployed mother didn't help out the situation, not to mention that I also have a younger, Autistic brother. But I took all of this in my stride and hope to see better days from here on out. I was brought up by my grandparents, my grandfather is now past retirement yet still working just to pay for my education. They're always ready to pay for my needs and my wants, but now it's time that I try and help them out and relieve them from stress.
Because of my excellent marks, I was one of the lucky few from my school who were given the opportunity to stand a chance to be part of our school's exchange program. The only issue now is: finances. The entire trip will cost me at approximately R 20,000 or US$ 1,500 (that is including the ticket and spending money), money that I don't have. I'm going to different platforms asking for donations as I would really love to be part of this amazing experience.
I hope that somehow someone somewhere sees this and realizes how much this would mean to me and would help me in raising the needed funds. Any donations would be much appreciated.
