My School Project

My name is Domagoj and I am a student at 1.Tehnička Škola Tesla (1. Technical school Tesla). Yes, it was named after one of the greatest minds of the 20. th century - Nikola Tesla.

This school year I have a subject called "Assemblies" where I learn about active electronic components (diodes, transistors) and basic electronic circuits. Also, I will learn how these components interact with each other and how use them to control mechanical components. Assemblies have two parts - theoretical and practical part. Practical part requires me to build a functional device composed of electrical and mechanical components. This build will also greatly influence my final grade for this subject. I have a choice from simple arduino project like a meteorology station, up to complicated robotic assembly like 3D printer.

I surpassed the simple arduino project. Last school year I participated in INOVA young (a competition of young inventors and constructors on a national level) and won a bronze medal with arduino. Then my attention turned to robots and I have built a robotic arm. Just for fun I have connected controls to an arduino even tho it was intended to be used with its own wired controller. So I think I have the arduino pretty well covered and I am looking for something more challenging.

For this project I have decided to build a quadcopter. Quad combines all the things I study in school like electronics, mechanics, and construction into one. It is perfectly suited for my school assignment and for this year's participation in INOVA mladi. For the school project the quad will be equipped with a camera but for INOVA mladi number of different modules (experimental/science) for different purposes will be added. Actually one of the modules I am gonna build first is an sensor array. It is practical, useful and fun as hell.

I am only sixteen so my budget is very, very limited. Because of that I started this campaign to raise money for my project. You can help me by spreading the word over the social media, by sending me one or two parts from my parts list or simply by a small donation. Any help is more then welcome and equally appreciated.
