My parents’ house was destroyed by a strong earthquake near Petrinja in Croatia. Let’s help them build a new house.

Jaki potres koji je nedavno pogodio područje u kojem živim uništio je mnoge kuće u okolici pa tako i kuću mojih roditelja. Kuća je bila stara, ali je bila naš zajednički dom od 1995 godine. Tu smo živjeli svi skupa, otac, majka, brat i ja. Otac je srčani bolesnik sa ugrađenim ICD uređajem za srce i u mirovini je, a majka radi u trgovini.

Sada se jedan zid kuće srušio na automobil i uništio ga, temeljni zid u podrumu je pukao i razdvojio se, još jedan rub kuće se dosta odvojio, kao što su i unutarnji zidovi i stropovi nastradali.

Htjeli bi sagraditi malu drvenu ili montažnu kućicu otprilike oko 50 m2 što im je i više nego dovoljno da u miru provedu naredne godine svoga života. U dvorištu, gdje je sada kuća koja je dobila oznaku "neuporabljivo", ima dovoljno mjesta za izgradnju takve manje kućice, a i ono što je njima najvažnije, ostali bi na svome mjestu gdje su navikli biti i teško im je otići od tamo jer imaju i životinje o kojima se brinu, imaju prostor za vrt i za svoj mir.

A strong earthquake that recently hit the area where I live has destroyed many houses in the area, including my parents' house. The house was old, but it has also been our common home since 1995. We all lived there together, father, mother, brother and me. The father is a heart patient with built-in ICD devices for heart and retirement, the mother works in a store.

Now one wall of the house collapsed on the car and destroyed it, the foundation wall in the basement cracked and parted, another edge of the house parted quite a bit, just as the interior walls and ceilings were damaged.

They would like to build a small wooden or prefabricated house of approximately 50 m2, which is more than enough for them to spend the next years of their lives in peace.

In the yard, where the house that was marked "unusable" is now, there is enough space to build such a smaller house, and what is most important to them, they would stay in their place where they used to be and it is difficult for them to leave because they have the animals they take care of, have space for the garden and for their peace.
