My mom’s fight against cancer

Update posted by Patrick On Aug 15, 2013

Hello everyone

You may have noticed the price of my fundraiser changed. That's because today didn't go as well as we'd all hoped for. My mom had an allergic reaction to the second dose of chemo and was very very sick. Because this reaction wasn't normal they've decided to change her chemo and she has to go for a weekly check-up. She also has to take even more pills. The costs of her treatment are piling more and more. Now we can use the support more than ever. Thank you!

Today we got more news about the surgery. In order to make the chance of success greater they want to operate her in the University Hospital of Ghent. They have doctors who specialize in this type of surgery and they will also  monitor her further treatment. She will be hospitalized mid-September and at the end of September she will undergo the surgery. Tomorrow from 9am to 6pm is her last or second last chemo in Amsterdam.
Yesterday morning she woke up and her hair had fallen out. We had hoped that with this new chemo that would not happen, but alas. On the last scan we saw that there were secondary tumors in the liver and between her intestines. So let us hope her liver will not be poisoned by this chemo, because her liver was beaten badly by the old chemo.

Let's hope nothing will happen before the surgery.

I would like to thank everyone who is supporting me or who is going to support me in the future. Two weeks ago I started with my new treatment. In september will hopefully have my last surgery, unfortunatly I can't afford this surgery and the treatments after and before the surgery. That's why I'm so thankful sites like this one exists, I hope it will make a difference. Thank you so much for giving me a chance to get cured!
