MY MIRACLE BOY

This campaign is for my son, Eugferd Daniel Cabales, a 10 years old young boy, patient of (BAL) Biphenotypic Acute Leukemia but he was put under the chemotherapy program of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in 2009 up to this date, he was 2 years old when he was diagnosed at PGH or Philippines General Hospital in Manila.

My son has been fighting this battle for more than 8 years now. His current status is pretty impressive with a very positive results despite the negative diagnosis we got from the doctors prior to his Chemo sessions. And now, he's almost done with it, almost graduating from his chemotherapy at Philippines Children Medical Center (PCMC), unfortunately because of the long-term medication, all my means of resources also are pocket-draining, mostly went to his medicines, test and chemo so that we can sustain and maintain his health progress.

Just this October, his doctor advised me that before he will be totally released from the hospital, he has to undergo several intensive tests to make sure that he is totally cancer-free when he leaves, which also means that I have to ready a lot of money because it will costs me a lot.

During these sessions,,He will undergo lot of medical clearance testing such as (BMA, MRI, Blood Tests, x-ray test, Spleen and Liver and many more) and we are hoping that on April 2018 tentatively the chemo ends. (with God's help and permission).

That is why, I am using this site to help me seek more support to help him out, I am knocking on your door, no matter how small you could share is really a big help for him. He already made this far and I don't want him to loose faith. As a mom I know I did my best to sustain his medication alone for him to survive and now we are almost near the peak of cure.

But I could not say I am done with it for as long as he is still in this journey, I want to see my child growing up and be a better man...have his dream come true...and to be a chef one day.

They called him the "miracle sweet boy of PCMC" because of what he's been through, from a dying helpless child with a less than 10% chance of being cured to an almost wow, he did it!

At the age of 4, when his BMA test result relapsed, the doctor talked to us and told us to think over the "American Protocol" they've recommended to replace the current protocol he was using, during that time as his parents, we don't want to loose our child, witnessing everyday parents mourning of their dead child, I was so devastated and hopeless. We've decided to stop the chemo because of the risk. Almost 5 years of no check-up, no anything Eugferd was able to enjoy school until he was Grade 2, play on the playground with friends... etc.

May 2015, when a devastating news hit us again, I was at work when he called me and said "mom please help me" (crying) I asked him what happened? he was in agony, can't walk nor stand, the symptoms he had when he was 2 came back but much worst than the previous one because he got so much lumps all over his body, spleen and liver were swelling and when we sent him for Bone Marrow test, 89.93% of blast bad cells!

Doctors mostly from different hospitals rejected us, PGH, St. Lukes Q.C, Manila Doctors, told us he has less than 10% chances of cure, a palliative medication is the only way to lengthen his life (3-6 months at the most), we are just wasting our money.

As a mother, I don't want to see my child Eugferd dying in my arms without a fight!

I talked to the doctor, his current doctor right now of PCMC, the same advise I got, a palliative medicine, I cried and I said to her NO, please help me...and we agreed to continue his chemotherapy and I took all the liabilities!

Eugferd my son is a fighter, he is still battling this cancer up to this very date and I, a single working mom of 2 beautiful and loving children is very thankful of the bravery and strong-willed young man, my son is showing everyday.
