Carli’s Medical Volunteer Trip to Ghana

Hello family and friends,

As many of you may know, I am a Kimball High School graduate, Class of 2020. I am currently going to college at Nebraska Wesleyan University, majoring in Biology. My future plans include going on to Medical School in order to become a working physician. As we know, life is extremely busy and there’s no time to sit back, which is why I am reaching out to you to inform you of an exciting new opportunity I have volunteered for.

Because of the love I have for medicine, I have recently found an opportunity to further my education. After much research, I have decided to leave our country and use my knowledge and experience to help a country in need. On June 15^th, 2022, I will be going to Ghana on a medical volunteer trip through the organization, IVHQ.

As a medical volunteer, I will be working in a small, under-resourced clinic in rural areas helping to provide malaria treatment & prevention, as well as education around nutrition, sexual health & hygiene. Many of my duties will be a mixture of hands on, administrative & observational tasks. This opportunity will help me fill the gap left by a shortage of professionals, relieve pressure on health initiatives, and most importantly have local people have their health needs attended to.

Any amount of donation you are willing to give will help me obtain my goal of diversifying my healthcare experience. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that will not only challenge myself but allow me to return to the U.S with an abundance of life lessons and an outlook on life that will continue to help me pursue my dreams, while helping others.
