My Little Warrior Azrael Nathan

Hello everyone, My name is Azrael Nathan San Diego Deloria, I finally turned a year old last 21st of June.

I'am a happy and cheerful boy as what my family say, but one day; June 4, 2020 my grandmother found a (Kulane) abscess under my right underarm. So my mom decided to bring me to my pedia for a check up. When we were inside the room, my doctor said that my body might fight a sickness that turned into this abscess with the size of 4 inch length and 4 inch width. She decided to test my blood on the same day and she had given me antibiotics. After 2 days my pedia called my mom and ask her to got back to the hospital. As we arrive at the hospital, the doctor informed my mom that I’m having a high white blood cells normal range of it is 6-16 but mine was 36. She asked my mom to test my blood for the second time and she gave a new antibiotics to take.

After a day the pediatrician called again and asked for us to come back, but the result is still the same this is the time that my doctor informed my mom and my dad about what might illness I'am diagnosed with, but still my doctor tested my blood for the 3rd time. We went home asked my family to pray for me that this wouldn't be as serious as what the doctor said. But unfortunately, on the next day we were informed to come to the hospital and as we enter the room and my doctor start explaining everything to my parents; I'am diagnosed with leukemia.

leukemia — "a cancer of the body's blood-forming tissues, including the bone marrow and the lymphatic system."

Now, it's been 10 days since my birthday, and with that certain span of days I had a chest surgery, extraction of some liquids on my spinal cord, and it was just yesterday where I had my first chemo, and had my 5th bag of platelets loaded in me.

I know this is hard for my family, amidst the pandemic they have to take good care of me and be cautious. I know I'm not fighting this battle alone, there are good souls out there who were unhesitatingly donated their blood, so I thank each one of you. My doctor said it will take three years for my recovery and by that time I will probably be 3 or 4 years old already. I may be missing a lot of those years by just going in and out of the hospital but it would be more difficult for my family; my mom and dad who has worked hard for our family. With great faith that I will heal in no time, and with great strength God given me, I'am absolutely sure that I will get through this. I have three more days here in the hospital after my chemo and I'll be home, and this battle will not end there, I will fight for my mom and my dad, my family and for Him.
