My little sister wants nothing more than to become a paramedic. It's her calling in life. And she's well on her way, having started her paramedic course at Stafford University a few months ago.

But being a mature student is incredibly difficult financially. The government won't provide my sister with a tuition fee loan, or maintenance loan....or anything (due to her having lived abroad for a while before coming back to the UK just to do this degree). Paramedics are also the only healthcare degree that does not receive an NHS bursary. As a result, she is having to pay for this all herself, with a huge helping hand from our amazing dad (who has only just finished paying for me to do a 5 year medical degree - he deserves to enjoy his retirement without paying for us, though he would never ever say so himself).

Katie is super smart, hard working and totally dedicated to her dream of being a paramedic. She has been through testing times in life but has never used it as an excuse for anything. I am now watching her struggling financially and have even heard her talk about having to give it all up. I wish I could give her the money myself, but can't.

So this brought to me the idea for this page.

I am asking anyone who can afford it, and would like to contribute, to donate towards my sister becoming a paramedic. Any amount would be amazing. Count the pennies see the pounds! Who knows perhaps she'll repay you one day by saving the life of someone you love.

Thank you for reading!

Genna Davis (Katie's proud big sister)
