MY IRONMAN HAS PROBLEMS WITH HIS HEART

Good day to everyone. I hope you are in good condition right now.

I would just like to share and ask for help as my dad, Julius Tugano has been having a hard time with his heart for months already.

It all started when he felt uneasy and had a hard time breathing one afternoon around December 2018. Last April 2019, he experienced severe headache that he had to consult the doctor the following day. He needed to undergo various tests (bloodchem, ECG, holter etc) and take medicines for maintenance (photo 1). After 2 weeks, it turned out that he had previously experienced heart attack (see photo 2) “To consider old anterior wall infarct”. To make sure, the Doctor suggested that he undergo 2D echo to confirm the results. Today, June 8, we had it interpreted by the doctor and found out that my dad’s ejection fracture is extremely low (32%) compared to the normal rate of 55% (refer to photo 3&4) [“severe systolic dysfunction”] which means that his left ventricle loses its ability to contract normally and can't pump with enough force to push enough blood into circulation. Moreover, the size of his heart is relatively bigger (6.9) than the normal size (5.0) so the doctor prescribed new sets of medicine that are really expensive (photo 5).

I have three siblings and I am the second child (a senior high school student). My sister just graduated from college and my two brothers are still in elementary. My mom is assisting my dad with their food cart business in our village. My dad is the only one who provides for the family as my sister has just started working and with all the tests my dad had undergone, our finances are running low fast.

I am writing this letter with absolute desperation for help and prayer. My dad needs treatment as soon as possible. The doctor stated that dad has to get confined immediately and undergo Angiography (that would cost around 60,000 - 80,000 pesos) to be followed by the angioplasty (from 00,000 - 800,000 pesos) as soon as the doctor confirms that there are blocked veins or arteries in his heart. However, if the blockage is found in the heart’s muscle, that would cost more as it would be tagged as Dilated Cardiomyopathy of which cure is not available in the Philippines. We are not able to raise the money to meet this medical expense and we are humbly asking for your financial support to improve his health and save my dad’s life.
