My Independence

Im a 29 yr old mum, whos life has been turned upside down since breaking my Ankle in Three places back in 2001.

I had a operation to have pins inserted, and then spent the normal 6 weeks in plaster, but from the day i broke it the pain never went, and i had trouble walking, so was given a pair of crutches and had another operation to remove the pins in 2002 and then spend three days a week for a year having physio.

Things still never improved and i was eventually sent to the pain clinic, who then diognosed Complex regional pain syndrome, i have had various procedures in a bid to make things better but there is nothing left to try now.

I have since been diognosed with Fibromyalgia, Hypermobility Syndrome, Connective Tissue disease, Raynauds and Irritable bowel syndrome.

I live my life in severe pain and get tired very quickly, my joints also pop out and give way alot, Ive been told my conditions will get worse as i get older, so i am now living each day as it comes.

I have a 21 month old daughter, and id do anything to be able to do the things every other mum can do, The amount i can walk has now got so bad i need a wheel chair to be able to live a normal life.

The Occupational therapist is putting ramps at home so make things easier, i was given a chair by wheel chair services but my OT said its unsuitable to my needs, its far too heavy for my weak body, and it wont fit through the doors at home.

I spend most of my days at the Hospital and doctors, and have to take 25 pills a day, in a bid to help me live as normal life as i can.

I would love to have my indepence back as at the moment i rely on my partner/carer for everything

I would like to get a RGK Hi Lite, as its one of the lightest chairs you can get, but this costs £2000 which we just dont have.

If anyone can help no matter how small i would be very greatful :)
