My Kefalonian Project

I have worked in the Restaurant business and Construction for over 35 years in the USA. I was a restaurant owner and a self taught cook with American, Greek, German and Mexican food. I have skills of carving and butchering, and now I would like to contribute my working skills to help the place where I was born; Cephalonia, Greece. I want to infuse American values together with food and culture, so the tourists and the locals will enjoy the American style steaks, B.B.Q. and breakfast.

I like to create jobs for the people on the island of Cephalonia, by building new homes for the tourists as rentals for the summer, and support the local economy at the same time; the donors will have the opportunity to stay with us for the summer holidays, as well as their family and friends after the completion of the project.

I have the experience and the working team to build this beautiful village of stone homes; some of the pictures below are some examples of what the village is going to look like. We will incorporate a mixture of modern Greek restaurants, a Greek Fisherman's Tavern with local fresh fish (the fisherman's tavern would be an old boat), a twist of American culture; American Steak House/Smoke House with American B.B.Q, a breakfast/brunch restaurant, Spanish tapas, boutique coffee shops, stone made ovens with wood burning for fresh Greek and other breads, Mexican Restaurant, Italian Restaurant, wood burning oven Pizzeria and a small boutique market for your daily needs. We would also build a museum of American and European muscle cars from the 60's and 70's with a gift shop. The village will have all the necessities for the tourists and locals, creating a small city life feel.

I am open to any further suggestions, as well as any ideas like sketches, drawings for the small town, landscaping, stone building and any farming ideas. With the proper donations and funds for this project, the hard work will begin, but the completion of the project will be very rewarding. The island is magnificent, with gorgeous scenery, warm weather and friendly locals.

Below I have listed the various projects and supplies that will need to be completed for this working village:

Buy solar street lamps for the project

Support the local beef, goat and sheep farmers by adding more animals, this creating more local jobs for the young people and we can use the local meat for the Restaurant's

Build an antique car museum from American and European cars from the 60’s:70's, thus creating jobs and money flow by renting the cars for special occasions such as, weddings or for cruising in the island

Build a farmers museum for the tourists

Buy horses for horseback riding and wagons

Construct new small town with small villas for renting, so the tourists can come and enjoy the 88 beaches on the island

We need to buy tractors, trucks, bulldozers, bobcats, pickup trucks, working vans, so we may begin the process for the project. We would also need various tools.

We need storage spaces to store cars, motorcycles, Furniture and so forth.

The project can be a prototype and environmental friendly with all new technology with beautiful gardens and olive trees place to relax and enjoy the Island and create new jobs for the people.
