My first book – New Orion

A post-apocalyptic, survival novel about a group of survivors that must get through the horrors of this new world.

What is New Orion?

 New Orion is the first book in a post-apocalyptic series 40 years after the Earth stops spinning. A single day is six months. Day is hot, night is very cold. Out of the 7 billion humans, only about 900,000 survived the initial 20 years of the apocalypse.  The story focuses on one city; New Orion. Built out of a beached aircraft carrier near the city of Orion, Washington. This ship has kept the people living within safe for the past 40 years. But not just the city, there is one person; Jhonathan Preston, whom in the future will be known as the savior of our civilization. But right now as an 18 year old security guard, the only thing he is thinking about is how to stay safe. The people within the city hear rumors of a 'safe-zone', untouched the New Earths harsh wildlife and unforgiving days. This place, this Oasis, is near the middle of the newly formed Mega Continent that spans across where the Pacific Ocean once was.

Why do you need to fundraise?

 Although most of the book is complete, I need to have professional editors review the book. And I have to pay the initial costs to print the book. The rest of the funds go to story art and marketing.

Now a bit about the Author

 I was born in Portland, Oregon and moved from place to place on a yearly basis. My mom is in the military and was deployed to Iraq. I find myself draw to the rain and thunderstorms. I love to write, even if just random short stories. I grew up with games such as fallout that gave me my first fascinations of a post-apocalyptic world. I will soon be attending my local community college to work towards an outdoor based degree.
