My father Elmer needs funds for his heart operation

This is my father, Elmer. He is the sweetest man that I know. Even his children are already adults, he still wants to hug and kiss us, and tell us that he loves us. He is also the joker of the family and always tell stories in the most animated way possible.

But just recently, Papa (as we call him) was diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease that needs immediate medical operation. According to an angiogram test that was administered to him last couple of weeks, 3 out of 4 major arteries in his heart is already clogged. This left his heart functioning only 16%, according to his doctor. Due to this, he needs to undergo an angioplasty operation as soon as possible, which will roughly cost at least Php 1,100,000 (i.e., $20,600+) to remove the blocks in his arteries. Thanks to HMO benefits of my sibling, we were able to bring him to the hospital to conduct numerous check-ups & medical tests (i.e., angiogram, CTscan, etc.). But now, his HMO benefits are now used up already. Yet we also need to buy all his medicines which costs around Php 15,000/month.

Currently, because of his condition, he is experiencing drastic weight loss, declining body energy, and shortness of breath. He even needs to catch his breath every time he speaks, and easily gets fatigued even in the simplest physical exertion.

Worst, this condition also made him greatly at risk of cardiac arrest anytime because of his weak heart.

His will to fight for his life is also very inspiring. He promised his mama (our Lola) that she will never bury a child again in her lifetime. Papa lost 2 of his siblings already and we want to help him fulfill his promise to his mom.

At this moment, we are knocking at your hearts to help Papa so that he can have another chance at life. By God's grace, this surgery is our hope for him to have better health and ultimately to live normally again.

We may not have the financial means anymore for the surgery, but we are full of hope that people like you will invest in his life to see him well again so that Papa can create more memories together with his children. This may be the hardest challenge that our family have faced so far, but I believe that we will get through this, with the help of God & through the generosity of many.
