Hi, I am Virgil, 64 years old, from Angono, Rizal, Philippines. Me and my wife, Lucila, who's 58 years old, are both retired, living with the pension I'm receiving from the government and the help we get from our children who also have their respective families.
Last December, we discovered a lump on the left side of Lucy's chest. Due to financial restrictions, we refused to see the doctors and get medication. But as days passed, the lump continued to grow in size, and it began to go unnoticed and even uncomfortable for her.
It was already late when we had the lump checked. Not more than a month ago, she was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma or Stage 3 Breast Cancer, which required immediate operation to avoid the cancer cells to spread throughout her entire body.
Last Thursday, Lucy was admitted to the hospital for the operation. Come nighttime of the same day, we received a call from our neighbors that our house in Angono was on fire while our whole family was still in the hospital. I ran as quickly as possible to the house with my eldest daughter, Paula, but it was already too late to save the house and our belongings when we arrived.
Amidst everything, my wife is continuously fighting her way against cancer. It would be best to provide a home for her as she fight towards complete recovery.
Besides prayers, I am humbly and fervently asking for any financial assistance your kind hearts could provide our family to pay for Lucy's hospital bills and help us build back our home. Any amount would be of great help as we get back to our feet and rebuild our lives.
Thank you very much.
