My dog’s name Weiqi and she is seven this year. It all started when she had a high fever and I send her to the vet for check up thinking that it was fever only.
Sadly, upon check up the vet also examined that there were several swollen lymph nodes that were evidently present on her body areas such as legs, belly and neck. The vet subsequently carried on to explained to us that there is a high possibility that she has lymphoma. I teared knowing that this could not be true as she was healthy and lively all along. This was the day when everything came crashing down. I was still in the state of self-denial that this could not be true.

We also send her to another vet for further check ups to confirm the diagnosis a few days later. The next vet did some testing on her such as x-rays and cytology on her lymph nodes to confirm the first diagnosis. Based on the results, it was lymphoma. The vet explained that there could be treatment involved in order to make her feel better and healthy again but this treatment would have to make her feel discomfort which I can’t bear to even though she is only a dog.

To make situation worse, my family believed that putting her on steroids would make her feel better till her last day which I disagree. I personally feel that as a living, it is only fair that she deserves a chance to live just like a normal patient. I can feel her willpower in her eyes. Whenever we are discussing about her situation, weiqi will slowly walked up to us and looked at us with her face as if she knows the situation as clear as we do.

As a student myself, I am unable to afford the expenses to carry out the chemotherapy treatment for her as each session could cost between 500-1000 depending on the dosage and severity. A total of 10-18 session would be needed on top of consultation costs. This was the estimated cost given by the hospital we were referred to.

As you are reading this, I urged you that any amount given to us would be appreciated as this fund would be channelled to wei qi’s Chemotherapy session and I would be utmost grateful for the help given to us by the community.
Thank you for taking your time to read this and let’s all make Weiqi feel healthy and better again.
