My Daughters dream to help HIV infected children in South Africa has become a possible reality. My daughter has lived a very hard life. She has been assaulted twice in her young life and has become a survivor. Her second nightmare came with the scare of being HIV infected. She loved how the S.A.N.E. Nurses helped her at the children’s hospital and since then wanted to become a nurse. Thanks to God she was not infected. Within three months of her last attack, she managed to get the courage to go back to school and graduate. It was a GREAT feeling to see her walk that stage.

With all that she has been thru she still has this heart, love and passion to help and care for others. Her dream, since a very young girl has always been to travel to South Africa and help the children there. It was an Oprah Winfrey show she had watched which was about Oprah helping to build schools for the children there and how much help she was in South Africa. Ever since then, it is the one thing that has always stayed with her.

Well she is now 19 and has made the decision to join the Global Volunteer Network.

She was very excited to get the acceptance letter and I was very worried about what to do next. Coming from the Security and Life Safety field, I researched everything I could on this organization and its founders. I honestly could not find anything negative about it.

As her dad, I am still naturally worried, but my baby has a purpose and I can't be in the way of her dream and potential life path that she has chosen. After all, life has tried to knock her down several times and she has managed to pick herself back up, who am I to stand in the way of her dream. If you can donate anything, it will be GREATLY appreciated by us, as funds to help her are very limited. But more importantly, Please keep her in your prayers for a safe journey.

Thank you so much for your prayers, time, and help to help her fulfill her dream of helping other children see that there is more out there and every child has a purpose.

This is a poem my daughter just wrote last night:

"I had dream one night

it was of a little girl

tears in her eyes,

fearful of the world.

I asked her why she cried

why her heart was full of anger

she said that the world has replaced its love

with hate and full of danger.

I asked her what I could do to help

But she just ran and went to hide

And from that moment on

I knew I had to fight

So many people fear the world from the stories on the news

But how can we expect the change

If no ones willing to move

I took this step to show the world there's still a little good.

Hoping I could help just one who’s wanting to fight too."
