Fundraising School Fees
My heritage is from the Khalaghadi, Northern Cape, a small village that has a community of +- 2000 people. I am situated in Gauteng and my job became redundant recently. I have been away from my parents and siblings for 24 years and lost my parents whilst on this side of the world. This is heartbreaking as I haven't been able to assist them physically when necessary. My aim is to move back home to be able to be amongst my family every single day of my life.
I suppose that we have to learn from our mistakes and do it better next time around and this is exactly what I intend doing. My motto is not to prey on anybody but to let the world know that I am willing to go the extra mile for my kids. I quit my job when my son was one year old due to the fact that I could get a propper nanny and coudnt afford creche fees. I was at home for a full five years struggling to make ends meet. My faith in God uplifted my spirits and by His grace I found a job that allowed me to provide for my son.
My daughter on the other hand is an excellent academic student at Roosevelt High and received 3 distinctions within her first year of high school. Then she supprised us with another 7 distinctions within the first quarter of her second school year. She is presently in grade 9 and is 14 years old. She received distinctions in Afrikaans, Pure Maths, Natural Science, Life Orientation, Arts and Culture, Technology and Economic Management Science.
Her goals are to study towards a chartered accountant if not a doctor. She is a goal orientated person and strive for perfection. I believe that she might be too hard on herself at times where she doesn't want to leave the flat just to be around people or to get a breather for that matter. I strongly belief that she doesn't want to become stranded one day by not being able to achieve what we as her parents couldn't. She is a very positive individual and always talks about how she is going to live her life unlike being caught in a negative environment that will bring her morals down.
We currently live in a rural arrea where people gave up on hope long time ago. We cannot afford a better living arrangement for years now and is still stagnant to a point where we aren't able to move out of this environment. My son moved to the Northern Cape four years ago and live at my parents home. He matriculated after being caught up with drugs for a few years of which we suffered immensely. By the Grace of God my son's soul has been restored and is doing a learnership through education.
The funds would definitely make a huge impact in my daughters life as it will be used as a once off fee payment for her school fees for the next 3 years.
I have registered my business and applied for funding and awaiting feedback. Should this become a reality we would easily get packing and leave for my hometown. Even if this venture fails, I won't give up hope.
I do not believe in handouts but I do know that God helps a giving hand.
Thank you and God Bless.
