My Dad left us in a financial crisis

Two years ago my father left my mother for another woman and walked out on our family. My mother has severe Crohns disease and broke her back 3 years ago and is unable to work because of this. She receives disability but it is not even enough money to pay the mortgage. I work a full time job doing direcTV sales and do all I can to help out with the bills and help take care of my mother. She was also in the hospital this summer from July to September due to complications from her Crohns and COPD, putting her in an induced comma for a month and a half, so we also have medical bills that we cannot afford. The purpose of this fundraiser though is to raise money so that my mom can get divorced from my dad. She would be entitled to alimony, half of his 401K, half of his life insurance, health insurance and many other things that would help pay the bills according to a lawyer in which she went through a free consultation. The lawyer needs $3500 up front to get the paper work going and we are not sure how much additional funds we would need after that. If we could just receive enough donations to pay for the divorce, our situation would be so much better financially and my mother would also get the satisfaction of being able to divorce a man who cheated on her and left her in this situation.
