My dad got a heart attack and we need help with the surgery – Venezuela

Hi everyone, My name is Christian Parra, i have 21 years old and live in Caracas - Venezuela. Today my dad suffer a heart attack, a really bad one, and at this moment is in the hospital waiting to hopefully get a bit better so he can have a surgery that, with some luck can save his life. The problem we have in this moment is that the doctors need two things to fix his wounded heart: a mitral valve and some kind of patch to cover a hole in his heart. Thing is that it's to expensive for us, and is no secret to anyone the dificult time rght now in Venezuela, for example the valve cost more than 2200 dollars and the minimun wage in Venezuela taking the convertion to dollars is something like 10 dollars a month acording to the black market of currency, but the official exchange would be almost 30 dollars a month. That alone makes the valve impossible for us to pay, and without it i'm afraid theres nothing we can do to save my dad. Hi's name is Angel Parra, he is 55 years old, a big age but too young to go.

I have nothing more to say, but i will greatly appreciate any help i can get from all of you. If any of you have a question about his status or any info you may consider is needed, please ask and i will answer. P.S: We don't need the valve anymore because of a more precise study on my dad that concluded he doesn't need it, but the expenses of the surgery equipment where added today and it's around 4000 dollars. We still don't find or know about the pericardial patch.

Hola, mi nombre es Christian Parra, soy un joven venezolano de 21 años de edad actualmente en Caracas (Venezuela). Recientemente mi padre Angel Parra, con 55 años de edad, sufrio un infarto, y requiere una intervencion quirurgica de urgencia, lamentablemente por la dificil sutiacion que se vive en Venezuela este tipo de intervenciones resulta sumamente costoso por lo que mi familia si ha visto en una dificultad con este respecto. En solo la atencion recibida en su ingreso de emergencia se calculo un costo de 12 millones de bolivares fuertes, un equivalente a unos 500 o 600 dolares, para algunos puede sonar como poco pero en Venezuela esto resulta demasiado costoso, especialmente cuando el sueldo minimo mensual se calcula por los 10 dolares. Aunque esto no seria tan grave de solo tratarse de eso (este costo solo lleva los primeros dos dias, y mi padre ya va para 4 sin signos de mejora) pero a esto hay que sumar un parche de pericardio estimado en 800 dolares, y un costo de la operacion que necesita en unos 148 millones de bolivares (unos 5000 dolares aproximadamente) y aun faltan los costos de un presunto post operatorio en caso de todo salir bien. Es por ello que me encuentro en la necesidad de buscar ayuda en todos los medios posibles para ayudar a mi papa y bajar un poco la carga monetaria que esto supone para toda mi familia (ya es suficientemente dificil lidiar con el peso emocional de todo esto).

Sin mucho mas que agregar, solo me queda agradecer el tiempo que se tomen en leer todo esto, y aunque no puedan ayudar economicamente, el compartir esto puede ser incluso mucho mas grande a la hora de ayudar. Muchas gracias.
