My Buddy’s Weekly Vet Bills

Buddy is my kitty, he's a remarkable and unusual cat. I adopted Buddy and his sister Chloe from a local animal rescue group when he was just a kitten. He and his sister were dumped with several other unwanted pets in 2 carriers in the driveway of this sanctuary. When I adopted Buddy I knew that he had health challenges since he was in very rough shape but I had no idea how complicated it would become... not that it would have changed anything for me. It was love at first sight when I adopted him. He is an FIV kitty that was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure about 2 years after I adopted him. He has lived way beyond the original prognosis... and he continues to thrive despite all odds. He has come close to death on a few occasions but he is not giving up!!! I don't want too either. I'm sure a lot of people probably wonder why I have not put him to sleep... they probably think it's ridiculous that I have spent thousands of dollars on Buddy to keep him alive. I don't care what people think and I love my boy, he's my little Buddy and I will do whatever it takes to get him his weekly epogen shots. The weird thing with kidney failure is that you can feel totally fine up until the end. He is not in pain, he does not suffer he doesn't know that he is so sick because otherwise he's fine. We give him daily medication and subcutaneous fluids and he gets weekly blood tests and epogen shots to make his body produce red blood cells. The shots are expensive and the blood tests are too. I have been able to afford and absorb the costs until recently and I really need help.
