My Breast Cancer Treatment

My name is Htu Htu Hpaudut, but my nickname is "Jasmine". I am a 34 year old immigrant from Myanmar. I work as a manicurist in Singapore, where I have lived for the last 5 years.

Two weeks ago I found out that I have stage 4 breast cancer. And my treatment has already started.

I am reaching out for any support you can provide to offset the costs of my treatment.

Currently my doctor has advised me that my treatment comprises 3 months of chemotherapy and one year of monoclonal antibody therapy. The current estimate of the total cost is SGD 70,000.

Unfortunately, I do not have sufficient money to cover these costs. Given my income as a mid-level foreign worker in Singapore, private health insurance is not something I could ever afford. I also don't have very much by way of family support. Both my parents have passed and things are difficult for my family in Myanmar given the ongoing unrest there. My work colleagues (who have already kindly donated 4,000 out of their own pockets) suggested that I try reaching out more widely. Any amount of support that you can provide, however small, would be greatly appreciated.
