My best friend’s second chance

To whom it may concern, thank you for the time you take to read through all this. I have never done something like this before, requesting money as I am usually on the giving side, but this matter is far too big for me to assist completely as my income and expenses can't reach where I will have to aim. This is why I am exploring this option, as a final resort to help.

Here is the back story: My best friend has been in my life since mid-2014. She is a young and driven lady and determined to reach her life goals. She is a single child and she had to take care of her parents financially because her father is paralyzed and in a wheelchair and can't provide for his family since his accident 5 years ago. My friend managed to take care of him and her mother, while paying off her apartment and saving enough money for over three years to buy her own car. Her parents moved in with her mid-2015 because her mother's health declined. In January 2016 the mother had heart bypass surgery. Not having medical aid, my friend used her saving money and also used her car as collateral to borrow money to pay for the surgery. Unfortunately her mother passed away in May 2016. She had no funeral cover, so again the financial pressure fell completely on my friend.

In September 2016 her apartment was finally paid off and registered on her name, but her dad's health took a knock and she had to put him in a facility to assist with his needs. Her dad was doing better and all seemed to finally fall into place for her, until he had a stroke in the first week of January 2017, leaving him in a coma. The next week she was diagnosed with a 2,67cm brain tumor. This explains the sporadic headaches, mood-swings, constant tiredness, adult acne, and few blackouts. Of course she got medical treatment for all the above, but after the last blackout a brainscan confirmed the worse. Doctors say it is fast growing and immediately started with radiotherapy. 30 sessions for the next 6 weeks. As mentioned before she doesn't have medical aid. She applied for a loan at the bank, but it will only cover half of the treatment. She is also trying to sell her car to assist even more.

This is why I am trying to get financial assistance from here. She doesn't know about this at all. I know that the treatment might not work, I am aware that most people don't have money lying around to give away, but this is just a cry-out for those few that can assist. After the treatment is over she'll have no car and enormous debt to take care of, and who knows if she'll be able to recover. My aim with this is to provide at least some comfort to her, making life a bit easier - if made possible by people on here with open hands and caring hearts. I know there are millions of cases like this on here, but I will be very grateful for each one that will assist me in this cause.

She is having her 26th birthday on 28 April - I think it will be a great gift to her if the target can be reached by then.
