My Baby Girl’s Journey Home

Hello, everyone!

I am Danielle Samantha "Sam" Jimenez, the proud mother of Iona Drielle Jimenez Macalinao. Baby Iona made her grand entrance into the world on January 12, 2024, arriving a little earlier than expected at 28 weeks (7 months). This was due to some health complications I experienced called pre-eclampsia and HELLP Syndrome.

During my time in the hospital, I had to undergo hemodialysis to address some high creatinine levels and stay for a couple of weeks to stabilize my blood pressure.

Baby Iona was born at a low weight and needed immediate care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). She's been there for 3 weeks already and while she's active, her doctors can't guarantee her full recovery just yet. So, she will be staying in the NICU until we know she's in the safe zone.

Given my extended hospital stay and the need for ongoing assistance, our financial situation has become challenging. My savings and maternity benefits have been depleted, and to make matters worse, Iona's father recently lost his job, leaving us without a stable income during my maternity leave.

We have sought help from various government agencies, but we're concerned it may not be enough to cover the increasing costs of Iona's hospital bill and the additional expenses for her needs and medications.

I apologize for reaching out like this, but as a mother, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to ensure my daughter's well-being. I sincerely hope that the online community can come together and offer any support possible.
