So it has always been a DREAM of mine to go off on a Volunteer trip- a trip where my sole purpose is to give of my time & resources to help others in need. Next year I'll be 33 years old and it is about time I stop dreaming about this & actually DO IT!

I am happy to join Lifeonaire Missions, GRACE & La Escuela Integrada for my 1st Volunteer Trip. <3

Below is a description of what my Volunteer trip will consist of (it will be long, so bear with me lol). I will be funding my own personal expenses (my flight from Seattle, my stay, food, etc.) and we'll be staying out there 1-2 weeks. What i'm fundraising for is actual money that will be donated to the non-profit to finish building the new school for the wonderful children in Antigua, Guatemala.

Here we go:

The name of the school is Escuela Integrada de los Ninos Trabajados. They are located in Antigua, Guatemala. The school was founded in 2002 so it’s been around for awhile now. It’s had its ups, downs and many challenges.

The primary ministry is the school. They need money to keep the school open. This is important because without this school, many poor kids would not get an education in Guatemala. They live on less then a $1 a day and without an education, this is all they will ever have. With an education, obviously they can get different work. For some that means $10 day and that is a huge blessing compared to $1 a day. Beyond the school there is benevolence for the families. As you can imagine with the extreme poverty the families have many needs. This ranges anywhere from food, to housing, to medical help, etc… We try to help meet the greatest needs above and beyond that of the school.

One thing that the school really needs is a larger and a permanent location. They’ve had three locations over the years, none of which was a real school building. They have had to move because of landlords wanting to do different things, so this year we want to start the campaign to raise money in order to buy land and start the construction of a new school. The land is the more expensive part. Construction in Guatemala is cheap, but land is not. They want to see the school stay close to where it is now so land is much more expensive. They can get cheaper land further away, but then they may not be able to serve the same families.

GRACES is not for profit organization which supports Escuela Integrada since 2012.

Here are 3 places you can go to learn more about the school. I’d love to make the goal $2,000 for my trip. With your help we can make that happen! :D
