Mountain View High School in El Monte, CA was hit with an unfortunate event on Monday Janurary 21, 2013. Around 2:30 AM, the school was hit with a blaze that took 150 firefighters to control and extenguish after nearly 4 hours.

Buildings and areas affected were the cafeteria, ASB Room, Student Store, and maintenance areas.

Many have expressed how enormous of a loss this is for the school, the faculty, its current and former students, and the city of El Monte.

If there is a time to help, it is now. A small donation of $5.00 or more can come a long way. To put things into perspective, there is an estimate of 114,000 residents in the city of El Monte. If half of us donate a five dollar bill, we can raise $285,000 for the reconstruction of Mountain View's cafeteria. The more we raise, the better it is for the school and future students.

If you find yourself unable to donate, find a way to volunteer and help out your community. One thing we all have in common is that a family member, friend, or yourself attended one of the high school's in El Monte. Do your part and help! Thank you!
