There are more people in slavery today than any other time in history. Help us change that.

We are students from MUWCI participating in the 16 Hour Race to campaign against Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery, as a Running To Stop The Traffik (RTSTT) initiative. From 5pm on the 3rd of March to 9am on the 4th of March we will be running non stop; pushing ourselves mentally and physically to help those in need.

This 16 Hour Race is a part of the global 24 Hour Race (Running To Stop The Traffik RTSTT) movement that empowers high school students to lead global actiont to end modern slavery.

Human trafficking is present in every country, and the COVID-19 pandemic has just made it worse. Victims of human trafficking are more vulnerable to contracting the virus and less equipped to handle it. Furthermore, drastic decreases in job opportunities as well as reductions in income mean those who were already vulnerable find themselves in an even more precarious situation.

And that’s exactly why we run. For 16 hours, we push ourselves, physically and mentally to help those in need. The pandemic will not silence our efforts to combat the scourge of modern-day slavery. Millions of vulnerable families and individuals are without access to freedom, safety, and other primary necessities. We run to bring awareness to the cause. We run to stop the traffik.

So what are we fundraising for?

Collaborating with international anti-trafficking organization A21, the funds raised this year will go towards rebuilding a child advocacy center in Pattaya, Thailand.

Alongside aiding A21 create a safe environment where child victims of trafficking and sexual exploitation are able to speak to forensically trained interviewers about the trauma they have experienced, you are helping RTSTT work towards empowering youths. This is achieved through mentoring workshops on leadership, courses on ethical business and professional etiquette, selective student leadership programmes, and mentored project building competitions.

With your support, your donation enables us to equip a generation informed, motivated, and mentored to end modern slavery.
