Music and Art Studio in Bogota

The children from the Egipto neighbourhood are living in poverty and face daily challenges in terms of nutrition, education and emotional difficulties.The Art Therapy and Music Studio located in the Egipto neighbourhood of Bogotá, is a community space dedicated towards fostering creativity and reflection, which focuses on the relationship that each individual presents towards creativity and it’s development. It’s a space free from criticism where participants will be able to experiment with different art materials which will allow them to express emotions, feelings, and ideas. This creative expression will lead to self knowledge and “seeing oneself” in a group context accompanied by a professional Art and Music Therapists. It is not necessary to have artistic or musical knowledge in order to participate. The general objectives of this space are: 1- Create spaces for socialisation, interchange of ideas and relation. 2- Procure and insight into art and it’s processes. 3- Foster creative development 4-Create a sense of community and interchange of ideas between community, artists, health professionals and arts therapists.
At the moment we are searching for funding to be able to pay the arquitects for the construction of this beautiful space and also to pay for workshops, art and music therapy sessions for the children of this area for the whole year. We need your help and support!!!
