SUPPORT A MUSHROOM SOCIAL ENTERPRISE IN GHANA TO SCALE UP

• Mushroom Maker is a legally registered social enterprise, located in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana; with business registration number “BN031922020” and tax identification number “P0033256764”.

The enterprise is into the production of nutritious- healthy mushroom and value added products; while also helping the vulnerable ones in society, create and maintain sustainable livelihoods for themselves via training, mentoring, job opportunities, etc.

The Covid-19 pandemic really affected our business in terms of, investments we had earlier made, with respect to production and meeting market demands.

The funds been raised will go into the capital and operating expenses needed to scale up the enterprise and it’s operations. We will construct a much larger mushroom cropping house, with the capacity to hold at least 10000 substrate bags. This will give an opportunity to over 10 people to gain direct employment plus indirect job creation; as well as, enable us increase our production capacity, reach a larger part of the target market, generate more revenue and impact more lives with our sustainable interventions.

Since establishing the enterprise in January 2020, we have made some investments such as;securing land for future scale up and have made available resources such as; borehole water source and building structure capable of accommodating staff, as well as, functioning as office and training center.

The key beneficiaries who stand to benefit are; women, girls, youth, children, aged and persons living with disabilities, living in low income generating urban and peri urban areas in Ghana. The goal is to offer them support, that will enable them build resilience and create for themselves pathways out of poverty into sustainable livelihoods.
