"Murphy's Law": A black comedy about a mother and son obviously still living together. Robin, 43, is bored of life. Dealt a few bad hands in life - but, hey who hasn't been? - he can barely find the enthusiasm to do so much as finish a book. But, little does he know, his mother is suffering too. Dealing with their troubles in ridiculous and dark ways, with hilarious outcomes, the story of the Murphy's is one that needs to be told.
The money donated will be put towards: transport and travel for the cast & crew, locations, props, hair & make-up, catering and everything else which all add up! To reach Murphy's Law's full potential, we desperately need your help to raise some money for our budget! Our university offers NO funding or financial aid towards our student films. So, please ... any donations of any size from our wonderful friends, families and general film lovers would be very, very appreciated. It will make such a difference to the outcome of the film, which deserves to be great!
We're faced with the following challenges: finding realistic, believable locations- a train station, Virginia Water lake, a hospital corridor and two homes have been chosen - finding local, talented actors to fill the shoes of each character (as we can't afford to have them travel from far, nor can we pay for professional actors), costuming and styling them as best we can on a minimal budget, catering for a cast and crew of around 12 people, buying or creating props such as a plasterboard ceiling from which we can rip light fixtures ... as you can see, our project would benefit enourmously from a little extra money in the bank!
Rewards: We'd like to offer the following rewards for each large sum donated:
£10 - a thank-you postcard from the cast and crew
£20 - a DVD copy of our film and a postcard
£50 - a DVD copy of our film, postcard and a mention in the credits as a project backer
£100 - Giorgia's yummy homemade cupcakes, plus a DVD copy of our film and a special mention in the credits
With that said, every donation makes a difference, so please donate as much or as little as you can afford!
Many thanks and wish us luck,
The Murphy's Law team.
