Campaign Story
Dear everyone!
My mother, Lillian Villote Soledad - Gomez has been diagnosed of multiple myeloma (Bone Marrow Cancer) stage 3 last December 2018. Multiple myeloma is a cancer that forms in a type of white blood cell called a plasma cell. Plasma cells help you fight infections by making antibodies that recognize and attack germs. It causes cancer cells to accumulate in the bone marrow, where they crowd out healthy blood cells. It is a rare type of cancer that affects elderly patients. It makes her immune system very very weak and vulnerable to infections. Last March 1, she was confined due to tonsillar absess and pnuemonia. It is devastating to us to see her suffering with pain and discomfort and being helpless. She is scheduled for chemotherapy treatment but due to financial constraints we cannot pursue the medication.
What makes us hopeful is her determination and willingness to live and battle her illness. She is a very strong woman. She is a sole provider being a single parent to me and my brother. She worked hard to provide us food and shelter. She never complains about her sacrifices and hardships. She wanted all the best for her children and people around her.
Currently, she is need of 1 vial of Bortezomib (Velcade) which costs 90,000 pesos per vial for 24 sessions (24 vials). This is the only way for her to live longer.
Right now, I am the only one who works for our family. My salary is not enough to cover all her medical expenses. Please help us.
I am hoping that you will help my mother & our family over through this situation in God's grace.
