multicultural Geography Conference

We are a group of Geography students of Barcelona who are organizing a Scientific Conference about Local Development in order to help society throughout our beloved science.

We are part of EGEA (European Geography Association), a European association of Geography students who help each other in order to develop our personal and professional growth, having many meetings around Europe to learn about Geography and improve our skills. Our aim is to improve the world and the places we live in.

The Scientific Conference is one of all the events which EGEA organizes every year. We (EGEA Barcelona) are going to be the hosting entity of this conference from 16^th to 20^th of July 2017. In this event geographers from all over Europe will work together to work on the local development of some places of Catalonia (Spain), specifically the city of Girona.

So the main topic of the conference is going to be local development: through team work, our participants will learn and understand the territory of Catalonia, being able to do their bit in order to achieve its improvement. We would like the projects and proposals created to have a subsequent applicability on the territory, facilitating its progress. In such a way we will generate a reciprocal relationship between the territory and the participants which will be enlightening for both: working in a multicultural group, using a foreign language (English) for the purpose of helping a part of the Catalan population. We think this initiative is just an extraordinary and amazing experience.

In this way, our event can be an opportunity for the future professionals of the territory, those who are studying with the aim of making the world a better place to live.

So Scientific Conference is going to be from 16^th to 20^th of July 2017. That is why we need your collaboration as soon as possible in order to plan the event in the best way we can. It will take place in Mas Vilanna, in the small municipality of Bescanó, close to Girona in the north of Catalonia.

All what we collect will be used to pay the material that we need, the accommodation, the allowances and the transportation of the participants in order to assure their well-being. We would be extremely grateful if you collaborate with us, helping us to turn this dream into reality.
