We need to raise money for buying a plot where we can raise a permanent day care facility in Marangu.

The Marangu Theatre Arts Organization day care center is an educational day care facility for 25 children from age 18 months to 7 years old. For young school children we also provide after school activities for families needing this type of support.

In 2018, the Marangu Theatre Arts Organization Day care (MTAO Day care) opened the doors for all children from Marangu. The main focus of our day care is to contribute to children’s right to safety, education and play. Today, the day care welcomes more than 25 children on a daily basis, supervised by three caretakers and one watchman. The parents benefiting from the centre are really grateful having a safe day care for their kids while they are away at work, and the number of kids coming increase every year.

The day care welcomes children from homes with caring parents who are able to pay for the service, but also children from low income families, children suffering from violence or abuse in their homes, and orphaned children living with none or poor caretakers. This makes the income for MTAO day care unpredictable and to some extent insufficient. To make this project permanent and successful on a long term, we need to be able to buy our own land and own our buildings. Today we are leasing land and building, and have no guarantee that the lease will be continued. Therefor we run the risk of having to shut down anytime depending on the landowner’s decision. The rental fee may also raise and force us to give up.

To continue our project and to be able to maintain the care for the children that need us the most, we need to own our land and buildings!

The budget needed to realise our dream, to buy a suitable plot, is 20 000-30 000 USD (based on the current exchange rate).
