Hi everyone. It's a bad time for my family for the past few years. My aunt which raise me from the child support me in every way possible and love me as her son (and vise versa) got into a bad condition of life. It is a very rare neurodegenerative disorder called Multiple system atrophy (MSA) The signs and symptoms are similar to those of Parkinson's disease with the difference that MSA causes deterioration and shrinkage (atrophy) of portions of your brain that regulate internal body functions, digestion and motor control. Unfortunately there is no way to cure the mentioned disorder except trying to make her less suffered from it.
Everything started about six years ago when she had her hands trembled all the time. At first we thought the cause of it is her stress and ignore it. Then she started to move slower and all of her muscle are always trembling. At this stage, we went to the hospital but the doctors was not able to diagnose it. As the time passed by, she got worse by struggling to breath and swallow, can't balance herself on her feet and many more. We went to the hospital again and this time, the doctor diagnosed this as a Parkinson disorder and prescribe some medicine which was not quite helpful. We tried to give her a treatment by help her exercise, prepare her diet and assist her in every every move. The doctor made a schedule for use to visit him again, after numerous tests, MRIs, CAT scans , blood tests and many more test , they re-diagnosed her as M.S.A. instead of Parkinson though it did not make much different. doctors told our family she had roughly 5 -6 years left and it will get worse everyday. All of her dreams, plans and future vanished since she was diagnosed with MSA and everything has spiraled down since. My aunt is now living with my mother (her younger sister) who quit her job to took care her in every way possible. Unfortunately, the medical bill , equiptment and others are topping up and we do not have any in come now.
My aunt spends most of her day with pain and her condition makes once simple tasks now very difficult. Anyone that knows my aunt knows that she is a kind , smart and generous person. So now I feel it is time to dig down and help just like she would do for anyone of us. I am here today because of her support and it is time I should return the favor. Let’s all help my aunt to have a better quality of life. She doesn’t deserve to spend her days alone and in pain, she doesn’t deserve to be submerged in depression, she doesn’t deserve to wake up everyday and think that she’s slowly and painfully dying, she doesn’t deserve to be in a place where she gets sub par care and her depression only gets worse and worse. She doesn’t deserve to have MSA at her this age when she could spend the rest of her life after she was retired to do whatever she wants. She never got the chance to do any things that people sometimes take for granted. She deserves to have the best of the years she has left. Please consider a donation to this important cause and let’s show her that she is not alone in this journey. It takes 400 good hearts to donate only 10$ (300baht) in order to reach our goal! Would you be one ?
