Help Dean

Hello,

My name is Huw. I am here on behalf of my nepew (Dean)and their family who are very dear to my heart. On the 2nd of July we got a sad news that 7 years old Dean has been diagnosed with( DIFFUSE INTRINSIC POTINE GLIOMA).
This is a very aggressive and difficult to treat brain disease. It is located in the lower part of the brain stem called the PON.
PON controls the heart beat and breathing, therefore it cannot be oprated. Till date there is no penetration to these area of the brain stem. The only option for treatment is radiation, these will only slow down the tumor for apporx 4-6 months, after which it will start growing again with more aggression then the first time. It will then take his life shortly there after. His radiation treatment will be held at the James at OSA being lead by Dr. Palmer.
