UPDATE - in sidebar - There is now a picture of her teeth
2nd UPDATE - Need help looking after Mowgli during and after procedure- More details in update section
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mowgli currently needs to be taken to the vet for a dental.
The local veterinary clinic helps give her an oral flea treatment each month and each time has been putting much emphasis on the status of her teeth. They say her teeth are "Grade 4" status which means they are in quite bad shape (compared to grades 1-3). In order to fix the overdue issue more work has to be done on her teeth due to plaque build up and she probably needs at least one tooth pulled out.
For Mowgli's convenience, the veterinarian clinic wishes to also do a blood test when they go about the dental so she only has to go through this stressful experience once but I can barely afford a blood test (let alone with tartar removal and pulling a few teeth while she is under anesthetic) and need help. They have also said the sooner this is looked after the better and that it definitely is causing her pain. It is worrying that one of her front canines fell out last year and she does not chew biscuits much anymore.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It would be amazing and I'm very grateful for any help with this in order to assist Mowgli. I love her to bits She
is my best friend, we've been through some of the worst times of my
life together and we are one of the big reasons each other are still
alive,
I don't want to let her down now.
Mowgli is my
elderly cat and her veterinary treatment is not something I can afford
alone. We reside in Auckland, New Zealand.
She was a stray you see that turned up one day thin & hungry and found sanctuary with my household over four years ago. For a while others unfortunately preferred to keep her outside on the back deck more than in. She was not a very active cat back then- lying in the sun all day... we fed her regularly but it was not enough. She was lonely and needed more attention.
I could not bear to watch her suffer outside alone anymore and recently made the decision to move her inside where she could sleep and basically live in my room. Due to this she now has a safe place to stay for the rest of her life, she also has become far less stressed, active and surprisingly aware of her surroundings. She is able to ask for food or a warm lap to sit on at any time now. Everyday her personality shines more and more as she grows on her journey while living the last few years of her life in as much comfort as I can possibly give her.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for helping make this stressful time for both of us a far more hopeful one. She needs this dental but it is hard to pay for even her weekly food that helps her keep gaining weight.
She's currently 2.80kg and so close
to a healthy weight, she was far
lighter than that before her living situation changed.
She has been such a strong survivor this whole time ...It's unusual for me to ask for money but this way she
might finally be able to live her elderly days in blissful peace.
All the money raised here will be spent completely on my cat that has now been taken completely into my care.

Teeth status
Update posted by Shanley Stone at 06:52 amUPDATE:This is the best photo at this time for a look at some of her teeth. She is missing a front canine but it seemed best to show you all one side of her mouth. Maybe this will shine some more light on things and show you all what is. . . . .
