Moving to the USA or Canada

I'm South African and the crime rate is really high. Also the murder and rape rates are always on the increase... I just want to make money in order to keep my wife and parents safe, I had few bad burglaries and I'm tired of this depressing life, I have a kid on the way and I want to give him the best and safest upbringing ever. Lastly this South African government is useless and this country goes more into junk status day by day. Everyone has a dream and I feel like this is a start to many great things. Alot of other local South Africans tell me to go back to where I came from because of my different race even though I'm a 5th generation South African citizen I'm unwanted here and I constantly feel in danger.
