This description may appear vague but please stay with me as it's urgent.

I was recently contacted by social services and the police who shared some information with me about a neighbour. A neighbour that has been considered a friend since we moved here 7 years ago, someone who we have shared Christmas dinners with, who comes in to our home without knocking and who my children trust. We have, since being given this information, cut all contact with said neighbour but I can not live here anymore. I live in flats so their garden attaches to mine and their window overlooks our front. I don't let my children, 2 young girls, play out anymore even if I am with them. I have anxiety over just hanging my washing out and I can't live like this anymore. They are aware we now know this information but that hasn't stopped them from following us to the corner shop and back and asking us if we want lifts regularly. Please help. I asked my housing provider to be moved (council as I'm a young Mum on a low 10 hour wage) but even with letters provided from SS they said it is up to me to keep my children safe. Home is where I should feel happiest and safest but I can't anymore. Sorry I can't offer more information but please help us.
