From its inception to the launch of bachelor’s and master’s programs, the main objectives of the Program will be to strengthen the research potential in the region and form a basis — from knowledge, staff, research products, and curricula for a wide range of planned programs.
In the first area, research and development program provides assistance to leading scientists from Europe and far abroad who conduct research on topics that represent academic priority. As part of a special research scholarship program, the University provides financial and organizational assistance and gives access to its resources to support researchers in conducting field observations, participating in conferences and seminars and publishing papers in scientific journals.
Mountain research university (Spain) has five tasks:
Development of knowledge about mountain communities through innovative research;
The organization of "central knowledge" for scientists, specialists in the field of development and policy;
Development of regional cooperation in the field of conducting qualitative research related to mountain communities;
Interaction and development.
Dissemination of knowledge among interest groups whose activities are related to mountain communities.
The university conducts interdisciplinary research, the results of which are used in the preparation and implementation of programs for the development of mountain communities in Spain. An integrated approach and research (an approach where research is conducted with the participation of representatives of mountain communities and for communities of such communities) requires an understanding of social and environmental factors affecting different geographic areas and different periods of time.
