Adam is a 10 year old boy who has been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a genetic disease affecting the part of the nervous system that controls voluntary muscle movement. In short, as he ages, he wont be able to move much and his muscles will be very limited to any type of movement. He is a boy with drive to continue his studies even in his current condition( he is currently in a manual wheelchair). He has FIRE in his soul to continue going to school even though his condition prevents him from doing things many normal children can. His school is not very disabled friendly and a motorized wheelchair would help him SIGNIFICANTLY. This motorized wheelchair will also help him when he gets older as he will not need to use much arm strength.

His mother struggles to find a job as there is no one to care for Adam. However, she makes and sells traditional Malay sweets to fund their daily expenses. She also does laundry for people/neighbors with a washing machine that was also donated to them by an NGO, so she is able to stay home and care for her son.

We hope to help raise some money for this sweet boy and his mother so they will be able to buy the wheelchair for him. The lifespan for this rare disease is not known. Some live longer than others so we hope to raise the money fast enough for him to be able to enjoy the wheelchair sooner.

Thank you

Regards,

Mikhail
