10,000 Meals for 10,000 Miles

HELP me ride 10,000 miles in the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge, starting July 15, 2018 in Medicine Park, OK! I have two simultaneous goals:

(1) To raise the funds I need to be able to do the 10K Hoka Hey ride by July 6th;

and

(2) To provide "10,000 meals for 10,000 miles" with Feeding America.

To be clear, I need to raise funds first to sponsor my participation in the Hoka Hey. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, for which my $500 entry fee has been sponsored.* At the same time, it's a hard fact that riding 10,000 miles in about two weeks is not only difficult, but it is also expensive-- even if you must sleep outside next to your motorcycle. (Nope, not kidding.)

(1) THE RIDE: Goal $500. GOAL MET! These are the remaining uncovered costs to ride 10,000 miles on my motorcycle (after having secured in-kind support and outside campaigning). Today we are only $20 from completing this Goal. What?! True.

Original Total Budget: $2,200. Line items: estimated $1,000 for premium gas (avg. $3.50/gallon); $500 one set of replacement tires/mounting; $500 maintenance (oil changes) and minor repairs; $200 for required personal tracking device. **Please know these line items above are the main items/cost for the ride. I'm not asking for funds to cover any personal out-of-pocket costs, such as food, showers, forgotten sundries like toothpaste, or washing smelly clothes. Ha ha!

Because you helped cover costs, YOU have made it possible to leverage the Hoka Hey Ride to raise awareness and provide meals to help End Hunger in America.

MEALS for 10,000 MILES" through Feeding America. ON OUR WAY! Only last week this didn't seem possible. Then a few local business came on board with in-kind support to bring down ride costs. And I did further research to discover Feeding America can turn $1 into 10 meals. I also learned of a matching grant that will double our donation, meaning we need only $500 to provide 10,000 meals. WOW.

All funds donated beyond the cost of the ride will go to **Feeding America** and their network of 200 Food Banks and 60,000 food pantries nationwide. Feeding America is a top-rated charitable organization. Learn more at www.feedingamerica.org
